Jonesboro woman charged with keeping dogs in unsanitary conditions
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A Jonesboro woman is in jail Wednesday after Clayton County Police discovered she was keeping 12 dogs in unsanitary conditions in a fenced-in backyard.
Clayton County police searched the home of Shenniele Sandra Youhoing on Wednesday morning and found she was keeping the dogs, including a rottweiler, pit bull, husky mix and a Shar-Pei in an area that “was not sanitary due to the large amount of indisposed animal feces,” police said.
Youhoing, 43, was violating a Clayton County ordinance that prohibits anyone from keeping more than five dogs or five cats – or a combination totaling five -- over four months of age, police said.
Clayton County Animal Control officers have been trying to contact Youhoing since March 19, 2009, police said. They obtained a warrant for her on Tuesday.
She has received 13 citations and also was charged with obstruction “due to her intentional avoidance of the Clayton County Animal Control Officers,” police said.
