The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

A Jonesboro daycare worker was arrested Thursday and charged with one count of cruelty to children.

Ashley Beck was also charged with making false statements to police, according to Jonesboro police Lt. Wayne Woods.

Woods said Beck, who is in her early 20s and lives in Jonesboro, works at A Learn & Play Academy on Gloria Drive.

Beck was arrested following an investigation into a Sept. 17 report that she had injured a child in her care.

Woods would not say specifically how Beck allegedly injured the 2-year-old child.
