What I do: “I support our breast patients through their mammogram or any other procedures. I also support the patient that has been diagnosed with breast cancer by providing information on all the programs available and offering them emotional support.

“On the day of surgery, I try to be available in the outpatient surgery area so the patient and their family can see a familiar face.”

How I got into this: “I have always had an interest in oncology. I worked in both medical and gynecological oncology in my early years of nursing. When my father and my sister lost their battles with cancer, I decided to make a change in my nursing path.

“It’s amazing how our journey can take us in a complete circle. Being a nurse navigator for the breast cancer patients just feels right.”

Best part of the job: “Helping my patients overcome any obstacles in their path while battling breast cancer and then watching them complete all of their treatments and reach their milestones.”

Most challenging part: “Finding the necessary financial resources for my patients.”

What people don’t know about my job: “Once I am made aware of a patient’s problem, I will work diligently to find a resolution.”

What keeps me going: “My faith in God, my family and the unconditional love of my patients.”
