To commemorate COPD month, Piedmont Hospital will host a pulmonary health symposium from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event will focus on the latest information about managing COPD, pneumonia, sepsis and vaccinations. There will be breakout sessions about tracheostomy care, oxygen therapy (including using MDI and nebulizer therapy, nasal cannulas, oxymizers) and oxygen-carrying systems. The Emory diabetes educator certificate course at Grady will be at the Emory Faculty Office Building (49 Jesse Hill Jr. Drive in Atlanta). This seminar is open to nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, social workers and others interested in the management and education of people with diabetes. Professionals preparing to take the certified diabetes educator exam should find the course helpful. Time is allocated for observations in the clinical setting with members of health care teams.
