Independent airport lounge opening at Hartsfield-Jackson

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport’s first independent VIP lounge opens Thursday, offering a respite from the crowds to anyone willing to pay an entrance fee.

The Club at ATL on Concourse F in the airport’s international terminal will offer snacks, beverages, alcoholic drinks, two showers, a business center and wi-fi — in exchange for a $35 day pass.

The independent lounge was supposed to open with the international terminal in May 2012, but was delayed due to contracting issues.

The club operated by Airport Lounge Development replaces Lufthansa and British Airways clubs on Concourse E, serving those carriers’ eligible customers such as first class passengers. It is also open to members of Diners Club, Lounge Club and Priority Pass.

Delta has its own Sky Club on Concourse F and other concourses.

Hartsfield-Jackson built the 7,257-square-foot club for $2.6 million and charges rent and a percentage of sales, said airport manager Louis Miller.
