Mannington Mills, a producer of commercial and residential floor coverings, will expand a plant in Morgan County and add 219 jobs over the next several years. The company currently has 800 workers in the state.

An announcement by the Governor’s Office on Thursday said the Madison plant will double its footprint and quadruple its manufacturing capacity from March 2012.

Mannington produces hardwood and laminate flooring, porcelain tiles and carpets at its plant in Madison, about an hour east of Atlanta. The manufacturer also has operations in Calhoun and Conyers.

The Salem, N.J.-based company will break ground at the end of the year and expects to have the 219 new workers hired by January 2015.
