Delta names former Goldman Sachs partner to board

By Kelly Yamanouchi

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Former Goldman, Sachs & Co. partner George Mattson will join Delta Air Lines’ board of directors, Delta announced Monday.

Mattson was a Goldman Sachs partner and co-head of the firm’s global industrials group in investment banking up until his retirement in August 2012. He handled Goldman Sachs’ investment banking relationship with Atlanta-based Delta up until January 2012, and did not have a material interest in any transaction between the two companies this year, according to a filing by Delta with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Delta’s board elected Mattson and appointed him to the board’s audit committee and finance committee.
