A 12-year-old Cedartown boy hit by a school bus two weeks ago has died.

Wyatt Pilgrim had been in critical condition since he was hit by a bus on the morning of Sept. 9 while waiting for another bus that was to take him to Cedartown Middle School.

He was airlifted to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite and died on Sunday at the hospital.

Cedartown Assistant Police Chief Jamie Newsome said an investigation revealed the accident was unavoidable and that the bus driver will not be charged.
