Body shop owner wins $500,000
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A local auto body shop owner is $500,000 richer after playing the Georgia Lottery instant game $500,000 Hold ‘Em Poker.
James Darnell, 60, played the instant game on New Year’s Eve. His son purchased the ticket for him at Clayton Food Mart in Clayton.
“I took it back to the store,” he said of the ticket after scratching it at home himself.
A grandfather of five, he said he plans to make some home improvements with his winnings.
For more than 30 years Darnell has owned his auto body shop.
