Barrow County jailer faces drug charge
Associated Press
A Barrow County jailer has been arrested and charged with purchasing a controlled substance.
Barrow County Sheriff's authorities said 30-year-old Jeremy Robert Haney was also charged with conspiracy to purchase a controlled substance and violating his oath of office.
The Bethlehem man is accused of buying a small amount of hydrocodone from an undercover narcotics investigator Thursday.
Investigator Matt Guthas said Barrow County Detention Center administrators orchestrated the sting after receiving a tip that Haney was using prescription drugs illegally.
Guthas said Haney was fired immediately after he was arrested.
