Barrow County deputy charged, fired
Associated Press
A Barrow County sheriff's deputy is charged with terroristic threats and false imprisonment after officers responded to a domestic call at his home, and the sheriff says he's been fired.
Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith said Monday that 34-year-old Andrew John Deutsch also faces other charges, including battery and violation of oath of office stemming from the altercation early Saturday.
Smith says Deutsch had been drinking heavily when he got into a fight with his wife in their home.
The sheriff says deputies arrested Deutsch when they saw bruises and other marks on his wife's body.
Smith says Deutsch was taken to the Hall County jail and was released Monday after posting a $19,000 bond.
