A woman walking home Tuesday night was shot after she refused to get in a car with a group of men, Atlanta police said.

The incident happened at 10:30 p.m. on Springdale Road in southwest Atlanta. The woman was approaching the gate of her apartment complex, Heritage Green, when a vehicle pulled up.

A man in the car ordered her to get in. When she refused, the man said, "Get in the car or I'm going to shoot you," the woman told police.

The woman took off running and she was shot in the lower back. Police said she is in stable condition at a local hospital.

The victim has not been able to provide a good description of the suspects or the vehicle, police said.
