Victims in East Point sports bar shooting increased to 4

There was one gunman in the fatal shooting at an East Point club and he was motivated by a long-running dispute with the 24-year-old victim, police said Monday.

East Point police Sgt. Cliff Chandler told the AJC that detectives still don't know who they are looking for, but they are confident there was only one shooter in the incident early Sunday.

Chandler also said three people were wounded in the incident at the Central Station Sports Cafe in the 3100 block of Southeast Main Street. Chandler said one person was shot in the face and two in the legs.

Originally, police said only two were wounded by gunfire that apparently targeted Devorris Moss of Riverdale, who was killed.

"When the person started firing, he hit the intended victim and the others were in the area and shot in the cross fire," Chandler said.

The names of the three wounded are not being released, but Chandler said they are expected to be discharged from the hospital soon.

The only description police have of the suspect is his gender and his race, African American.

"We are trying to get in information as to who this other person is," Chandler said. "We don't have a lot to go on. Basically, we are trying to get information as to who can point us in a good direction."

Chandler  said there was a long-running feud between Moss and his suspected killer.

"They reconnected in the bar," Chandler said.

He said detectives learned the two had been fighting for a while "through their investigation" but he declined to provide specifics about the sources of that information.

"It's been going on for a very long while" but the details of the disagreement were not known, Chandler said.
