Thieves steal flat-screen TV from Buckhead restaurant

Atlanta police Monday were investigating yet another burglary where thieves smashed out a restaurant's glass window and stole a flat-screen television.

The latest incident happened at The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill, a new restaurant in the 3200 block of Roswell Road in Buckhead that hadn't yet opened for business.

Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones told the AJC that the front door glass was broken out around 4 a.m., and that a Toshiba 46-inch flat screen television was taken.

A second TV was damaged and two television still in the box were found left just inside the door, according to Jones.

The incident was the latest in a long string of smash-and-grab burglaries by thieves targeting flat-screen televisions, designer blue jeans and other merchandise.

Through last week, the five largest metro counties had recorded 133 such burglaries so far this year.

Last Tuesday, thieves shattered a window at Urban Outfitters on Ponce de Leon Avenue and stole clothing from the store.
