Teen shot in the face while squirrel hunting
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A teenager was recovering Saturday after being shot in the face while squirrel hunting in south Fulton County.
The incident happened about noon Saturday off Stonewall Tell Road near Demooney Road, according to Fulton police Cpl. Kay Lester.
Lester said that two brothers, ages 17 and 19, were hunting with .22-caliber rifles when the younger teen slipped in some mud.
"When he slipped, the butt of the weapon struck the ground and the rifle discharged, striking the 19-year-old in the cheek," Lester said.
The wounded teen, whose name has not been released, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment of a wound that Lester said was not life-threatening.
