Staff worker dies inside Fox Theatre

Authorities are still trying to notify the family of the Fox Theatre employee found dead at the historic Midtown theater Friday morning.

Once the man's next of kin has been told of his death, officials will then make his name public, an investigator with the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office said Saturday morning.

Fox General Manager Allan Vella said the man died in the theater's main offices.

The death appears to be from natural causes, APD spokesman Officer Otis Redmond said.

"Everyone's really saddened here," Vella said. "We are a close-knit group and we will miss this individual dearly."

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office is investigating; a spokesman there declined to name the man until his next of kin were notified.

An autopsy was being conducted at about noon. More details are expected after the autopsy is complete.

A movie, "The Blind Side," featuring Sandra Bullock, was shown at the Fox Thursday night beginning at 7:30.
