Coca-Cola Enterprises announced a new scholarship program Monday in honor of Vicki R. Palmer, a retired company executive and a trustee at Spelman College.

The company will provide $25,000 in annual scholarships for Spelman students with academic promise, financial need and a commitment to community service. The Vicki R. Palmer Scholarship also will provide some students with summer internships at Coca-Cola.

Palmer, who retired from Coca-Cola Enterprises earlier this year, was elected to the Spelman board of trustees in 1995.
