Power to be restored today
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Georgia Power said it expected to restore power Wednesday morning to all 1,800 customers who lost electricity in Tuesday night's storms.
A major outage was reported in Snellville near the intersection of U.S. 78 and Scenic Highway.
Outages also were reported in Cowetta, Fayette, Hall, DeKalb, Forsyth and Cherokee counties due to downed power lines. No injuries were reported.
Scattered hail storms and heavy winds buffeted Tuesday evening commuters. Hail was spotted near downtown Atlanta, in east Cobb and in the Powder Springs Road area around 5 p.m. while there were reports of trees down in many areas, including DeKalb, Henry and Cherokee counties.
Temperatures dropped into the mid-40s overnight, but sunny skies and seasonal temperatures are expected Wednesday.
