Atlanta police Wednesday were still looking for the motorist who shot a teenage boy to death Halloween night after his car was egged.

A man matching witnesses' description was arrested on unrelated traffic charges after being detained Monday morning, Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said.
That man, who was driving a vehicle similar to the one believed to have been involved in the shooting, was interviewed by homicide detectives, but has not been named a suspect in the slaying, Jones said Wednesday.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office identified the dead teen as Tivarus Irving, 17, of Union City. The shooting occurred on Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard near the intersection of Joseph E. Boone Boulevard around 8 p.m. Sunday, Jones said. The teen victim died en route to Grady Memorial Hospital.
Atlanta Police Maj. Keith Meadows said investigators don't know if the victim was even responsible for the egging.
"He might have just been an innocent bystander," Meadows told the AJC late Sunday.
Police had received a call about the egging and dispatched an officer who was monitoring the area, Meadows said. But the officer was rerouted to another incident after four or five minutes. After he left, the suspect returned, firing 10 bullets.
Witnesses described the shooter as a bald man, between the ages of 19 and 24, last seen driving a gold, four-door Mercedes 190E with a red, temporary tag.
