Motorist killed on Ponce de Leon

Atlanta police Wednesday were investigating an early morning wreck on Ponce de Leon Avenue that left one person dead.

The single-vehicle wreck happened about 2:30 a.m. in front of the Kroger store near the intersection of Ponce de Leon and Somerset Terrace, according to police dispatchers.

A pickup truck overturned, entrapping and killing the driver.

Atlanta police spokesman Otis Redmond identified the driver as Drew Larimer, 24, of Atlanta.

The eastbound lanes of Ponce de Leon were shut down for about two hours after  the  crash.
