Five Atlanta mayoral candidates will debate crime and other issues Thursday evening on the college campus devastated by the fatal shooting of one of its students earlier this month.

The forum is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Sisters Chapel on the Spelman College campus, 350 Spelman Lane SW.

The invited candidates are City Council President Lisa Borders, former Atlanta police officer Peter Brownlowe, City Councilwoman Mary Norwood, former state senator Kasim Reed and Jesse Spikes, a partner at the law firm McKenna, Long & Aldridge.

Spelman sophomore Jasmine Lynn was shot and killed earlier this month by a stray bullet on the campus of Clark Atlanta University, which is located near Spelman. The case is unsolved.

The forum is being sponsored by the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, the Gate City Bar Association and the Spelman College Student Government Association.
