Mayoral candidates to debate Wed., Thurs.

Three groups are hosting forums for mayoral candidates today and Thursday.

Wednesday’s event is a debate from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at The Foundry at Puritan Mill, 916 Joseph E. Lowery Blvd. The debate is being sponsored by the Northwest Community Alliance.

The alliance includes the neighborhoods of Atlantic Station, Bolton, Home Park, Howell Station, Loring Heights, Riverside, Underwood Hills and Vine City.

The Airport Area Chamber of Commerce plans to hold a discussion with mayoral candidates at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park.

The candidates are expected to discuss issues such as the airport, surface transportation, economic development, the budget deficit, small-business development and diversity policy.

The event costs $40 for non-members. The program will begin at 11:30 a.m. RSVP to info@airportchamber.com or 404-209-0910.

The Alliance for Intown Atlanta Neighbors is hosting a forum at Inman Middle School, 774 Virginia Ave. N.E., 7:30 to 9 p.m.
