Man shot three times in southwest Atlanta

Atlanta police Monday were investigating an early morning shooting outside a southwest Atlanta gas station that left a man critically wounded.

The shooting happened about 2:30 a.m. at a Shell station in the 1700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
The victim was sitting outside the station when he was shot "without provocation," Atlanta police Lt. Keith Meadows said.
According to police dispatchers, the victim was shot three times, and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.
The victim, whose name was not immediately available, was in critical condition, police said.
Investigators have not released a motive for the shooting or any information on a suspect.
