Man fatally stabbed in kitchen of southwest Atlanta home

Atlanta police Monday were investigating an overnight stabbing that left a man dead.

The incident happened at a house on Atwood Street in southwest Atlanta.

Atlanta police Major Keith Meadows told WSB-TV that the victim and suspect got into a fight in the kitchen of the home.

"At some point, the suspect grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim repeatedly," Meadows said.

A suspect was taken into custody at the scene. The victim's name has not been released.
