Ga. National Guard gets a boost

An organization formed to help provide emergency relief assistance to the soldiers and airmen of the the Georgia National Guard is getting a financial boost.

The Pantry, an independently-operated convenience store chain, recently donated $32,000 to the Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation.

This summer, customers of Kangaroo Express convenience stores were asked to donate $1 to the "Salute Our Troops" fundraising campaign. The campaign raised $2.5 million. The remainder of the funds will benefit other military support organizations.
