Atlanta officials proclaimed Monday as The Galloway School Founder's Day in honor of the Buckhead-area school.

Mayor Shirley Franklin, Councilwoman Clair Muller and other city leaders attended the school's first Founder's Day celebration. They also renamed a street after the school's founder, the late Elliott Galloway.

The school is celebrating its 40th year. It has a student body of 700 pupils and teaches children as young as three through the 12th grade.
