Delta canceled 380 flights out of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Saturday because of ice and freezing conditions, an airline spokesman said.

But operations are improving as the temperatures get above freezing, and then sun begins to warm the ice, Delta spokesman Anthony Black said.

Delta canceled 550 flights out of its Atlanta hub on Friday to prepare for the snow and ice, which had been forecasted to start falling Friday morning. But the snow started falling later and lasted well into the evening, making for a longer cleanup effort, airline officials said.

AirTran canceled 89 flights in and out of Hartsfield Friday, an airline spokesman said.

Delta canceled 550 flights that departed from Hartsfield on Friday.
