A collision on I-285 west of  downtown Atlanta Sunday afternoon left two people seriously injured.

Katherine Jackson was driving north on I-285 near the exit for Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW when she lost control and struck the median, rolling her vehicle, officer Kim Jones of the Atlanta Police Department said.

The crash occurred around 2:40 p.m.

All four people in Jackson's vehicle were in stable condition, but Jackson and a child in the rear seat  suffered serious injuries. Each suffered eye wounds and Jackson was at risk of losing vision in one eye, Jones said.

She said an investigation was ongoing and that it was unclear whether charges would be filed.
