Council accepts stimulus funds for more police
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The Atlanta City Council voted Monday to accept $11.2 million in federal economic stimulus funds that will be used to train and hire 50 new police officers.

The money will pay for three years' worth of salaries, council officials said in a statement.
Police hope to hire the new officers by December.
