Community meetings on Ft. McPherson development
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Atlanta officials have scheduled several meetings to hear from residents about how Fort McPherson should be redeveloped.
The meetings will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on March 10, 17, 24 and 31 at Atlanta Technical College, 1560 Metropolitan Pkwy. S.W.
In 2005, federal officials announced plans to close the 488-acre Army base within six years. City officials estimate the redevelopment could create as many as 13,000 jobs and generate between $7 million and $16 million a year to Atlanta in property taxes.
