Atlanta police Tuesday were looking for a man who broke into a Buckhead condominium overnight, kidnapped a woman and forced her to withdraw cash from several ATMs before setting her free at a Cheshire Bridge Road shopping center.

The suspect broke into the victim's Normandy Court home at the Walden on Lenox, a gated community off Lenox Road, shortly before 2 a.m., according to Atlanta police spokesman Otis Redmond.

Redmond said the victim told investigators that she was asleep when she woke up to find a man inside her doorway.

"The suspect made the victim leave the residence in her vehicle and drive to several ATMs and withdraw cash from her bank account," Redmond told the AJC.

After stealing about $460 from the woman, "the suspect drove the victim in her vehicle to 2000 Cheshire Bridge Road and told her to exit the vehicle," Redmond said.

Police later found the victim's 1999 Honda in a parking lot of a bowling alley on Piedmont Circle and returned the car to the woman.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was not physically injured in the incident.
