Atlanta mayoral results certified
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Fulton County's Board of Registration and Elections certified the Dec. 1 runoff election results Thursday.
County officials conducted a recount Wednesday and found Kasim Reed defeated Mary Norwood by 714 votes. The board certified results on Dec. 5 that found Reed won by 715 votes. The slight change in the results required the board to certify the results again Thursday.
Reed will take office Jan. 4.
The board did not have to certify the recount of the runoff in the Roswell mayor's race because there was no change in the vote tally. Incumbent Mayor Jere Wood won by 77 votes.
