Atlanta cop falls into open manhole

An Atlanta police officer suffered a knee injury when he fell off of his motorcycle and into an open manhole Saturday night, police said.

The officer, whose name was not released, was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital and was alert, Officer Kim Jones said.

The incident happened during a traffic stop near I-75, near Central Avenue, Jones said.
