Michael Hunnicutt, 20, allegedly shot at 17-year-old Tivarus Irving 10 times near the intersection of Joseph E. Lowery and Joseph E. Boone boulevards on Halloween night after his vehicle was showered with eggs, Atlanta police said.

Hunnicutt was arrested at his northwest Atlanta home and transported to Fulton County Jail.

Police had received a call about the teen pranksters before the shooting and dispatched an officer to the scene. The responding officer left Joseph E. Boone Boulevard to investigate another incident. After he left, the suspect returned and shot Irving, Atlanta Police Maj. Keith Meadows told the AJC.

The 17-year-old died en route to Grady Memorial Hospital.
