All lanes of Piedmont Road to reopen today
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The stretch of Piedmont Road in Buckhead partially closed earlier this week by a broken water main is expected to reopen in time for Friday's morning commute.
Janet Ward, spokeswoman for the city's Department of Watershed Management, said late Thursday morning that crews had finished pouring concrete to repair the section of road damaged by the leaking water, but the concrete would "have to cure overnight."
"The road will be open to traffic for rush hour tomorrow morning," Ward said.
Until then, commuters were advised to avoid the area between Pharr and East Wesley roads.
At 5:30 a.m., WSB Radio's Doug Turnbull reported that one southbound lane remained closed.
The break in the pipe happened around midnight Monday night.
The affected area is about midway between Lindbergh Drive and Peachtree Road.
