7th suspect arrested in MARTA train attack

MARTA announced Friday the arrest of a seventh suspect in connection with the April 16th assault on two customers aboard a commuter train.

David George Watkins, 19, of Atlanta surrendered at the Fulton County Jail after investigators had issued a warrant for his arrest. Watkins has been charged with robbery by force, attempted robbery by force and aggravated battery.
A 12-year-old boy was among three juveniles arrested late Wednesday in connection with the assault of two Delta flight attendants, who were headed to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Overall four juveniles, ranging in age from 12 to 16, have been arrested . They are being held in the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center charged with robbery by force, attempted robbery by force and aggravated battery. Because of their ages, police are withholding their names.
MARTA spokesman Lyle Harris said investigators have not yet concluded whether the teens were involved with a well-known street gang, "BFPL."
Siblings Zantavious Sanchez Scott, 20, and Jarquez Scott, 19, of Atlanta, charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery and robbery by force, were denied bond at their initial court appearances Wednesday.
Police say the youths boarded the MARTA rail car after leaving a party near downtown. They promptly assaulted two male flight attendants, stealing one's wallet. Neither victim was seriously injured.
