The two toddlers that were ejected and an infant injured in a head-on collision in south Fulton County remained hospitalized late Friday night.

A Lincoln Aviator traveling southbound on Buffington Road near Flat Shoals Road apparently hydroplaned before striking a Buick Park Avenue, Officer Scott McBride with Fulton County police told the AJC. The wreck, which happened around 3:45 p.m. Friday, is being blamed on the rainy weather, he said.

"They are certain it was hydroplaning," McBride said.

A 2-year-old and a 3-year-old in the Aviator were both ejected, McBride said.

The older child suffered serious injuries, and both were transported to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, he said. Investigators are still trying to determine if the children were properly restrained in car seats.

The driver of the Aviator, 36-year-old Tia Harris of Fayetteville, was not injured.

The driver of the Buick, 26-year-old Gary Wiggin, was also injured and transported to South Fulton Medical Center, police said. A passenger, Sade Stinchcomb, 22, is being treated at Grady Memorial Hospital.

An infant in the Buick, who was in a child seat, was taken to Egleston for evaluation.

The crash is still under investigation, McBride said.
