2 dead in College Park; College Park Police, GBI investigate
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
College Park police are investigating the fatal shootings late Saturday of two teenagers.
The two were found shot and unresponsive when College Park officers, responding to a report of a person shot, arrived at the Yorktowne Condominiums on Yorktown Drive about 11:15 p.m. Saturday. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, said Lt. Bruce Braxton.
He identified one of victims as Devonta Emon Stembridge, 18, of Riverdale. The second victim, believed to be about 16, was not identified, pending notification of next-of-kin, Braxton said.
A witness told authorities he saw two men running from the scene. Both were believed to have been in a car with the two dead teens, Braxton said.
Agents of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are assisting College Park police in their investigation.
Anyone with information about the shootings is asked to call College Park Detective Antoine Redding at (404) 761-3131, ext. 2245 or the department's tip line: (404) 768-8664.
