The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Jonathan Merritt, a young Southern Baptist pastor from metro Atlanta and leader in the growing evangelical Christian environmental movement, is scheduled to be on CNN Friday morning to talk about Christians, the environment and global warming. Merritt was excoriated by some of his own in 2008 when he and others drafted and published a pro-environmental theology statement. Evangelical Christians have often aligned with the political right in disbelieving in global warming and being suspicious of  environmental issues. At about 8:30 a.m., Merritt will be interviewed and talk about his book "Green Like God: Unlocking the Divine Plan for Our Planet," to be published in April, 2010.
