Astronaut with Atlanta roots donates papers

An Atlanta man’s personal papers have been donated to Purdue University's flight archives.

Wednesday, Roy Bridges Jr. donated personal papers to the Purdue Libraries Division of Archives and Special Collections, announced France A. Córvdova, Purdue’s president.
The papers will join those of astronaut alumni Neil Armstrong.
Born in Atlanta and raised in Gainesville, Bridges obtained a master’s degree in astronautics from Purdue in 1966. In 1985 he was the Challenger space shuttle pilot. He currently works as an executive with Northrop Grumman Technical Service.
He hopes that his papers will help someone else achieve their goals in life, he said in the announcement.
