After cold snap, warmer weather on way
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The coldest temperatures of the season hit the metro Atlanta area Saturday night. But the extreme cold isn't here to stay.
After overnight temperatures in the mid-20s, it is expected to warm up into the lower 50s by Sunday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Expect some sun on Sunday, but clouds will gradually increase, meteorologist Matt Sena said. Sunday night temperatures should be in the lower 30s.
It's going to stay cool early in the week before gradually warming up, Sena said. Temperatures will be in the mid-5os on Monday and the upper 50s on Tuesday.
But along with the rising temperatures will come an increased chance of rain.
We'll probably need the umbrellas on Monday and Tuesday, Sena said. But there is little chance the dusting of snow some areas in North Georgia enjoyed before sunrise Saturday will repeat.
