8 Occupy Atlanta protesters arrested
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Eight Occupy Atlanta protesters were arrested Friday morning at a bank in the Edgewood area, according to police.
The names of those arrested were not immediately available, Sgt. Curtis Davenport with Atlanta police told the AJC. Those arrested are expected to be charged with obstruction of law enforcement officers and criminal trespass, Davenport said.
The eight were arrested at the Chase bank at 1215 Caroline Street and transported to the DeKalb County Jail, according to police.
Earlier Friday morning, Occupy Atlanta and a group called Take Back the Block announced they would be protesting a foreclosure at the bank.
"This action is part of a larger campaign against Chase Bank in getting the deed back from Chase to the Pittman family," the press release stated.
