$250,000 lottery win to buy family new home
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Rhonda Smith was cooking breakfast and talking on the phone when her husband interrupted her.
“He came in and asked me to get off the phone because he had something to tell me,” said Smith, 33, a mother of four from Flovilla. “He told me we won the lottery, and I said, ‘You’re kidding.’ Then I cried.”
Smith and her husband won $250,000 by matching the first five numbers in the July 17 Mega Millions drawing.
Her husband, who picked the numbers at random, bought the winning ticket at Big Chief Country Store, 1834 Highway 42 South in Flovilla.
The family plans to buy a new home with the winnings.
