MACON — Two teenagers in Bibb County have been sentenced for bringing guns to school.

Prosecutors said a 13-year-old from Rutland Middle School received a 13-month sentence Friday to the Youth Detention Center for having an unloaded handgun in his locker.

WMAZ-TV reports that the teen, who was not named, was charged with having a weapon at school, possession of a gun by a minor and disrupting school.

In another case, prosecutors said a 14-year-old from Bloomfield Middle School received a 30-day detention center sentence for also having an unloaded gun on campus.
