$2,500 reward offered in Halloween kitten case

The Humane Society of the United States has offered a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people who inflicted burns on a black kitten on Halloween.

The 8-week-old kitten was found at an apartment complex in Stockbridge. PeachState Pet Partners, a rescue group, said it appeared acid or another corrosive substance was thrown on the cat’s head.

The kitten was taken to an animal hospital and recovered. It should be adopted soon, said a PeachState Pet Partners spokeswoman.

Clayton County police are investigating. Anyone with information should Capt. Mark Thomas at 770-477-3509.
