Canizares’ three hits lift G-Braves

Barbaro Canizares had three hits, drove in a run and scored a run to help host Gwinnett defeat Columbus 5-4 Monday night.

Canizares doubled and scored a run in the first inning. He drove in a run with another double, his 17th of the season, in the fourth. He also walked once and raised his batting average to .341.

Boone Logan (3-1) relieved Braves starter Francisley Bueno in the fourth and struck out five in 2-1/3 innings. Logan gave up one earned run and two hits.
