David Shafer, chairman of the Senate Regulated Industries and Utilities, seems to be the one who held up this bill. Senator Shafer certainly believes in alcohol sales (see last year’s Bill allowing Sunday sales at minor league field in Gwinnet County) yet won’t let the bill out of his committee… ?!?! The Chairman of the Committee sets the docket and hearing on bills assigned to its committee. Something is fishy about this.
