Hillary Clinton in Atlanta on Saturday

The Southern Christian Leadership Conference is shedding some light on the schedule of Hillary Clinton, the former U.S. senator and future secretary of state, who will be in Atlanta on Saturday to attend a dinner in her honor — one part of the Martin Luther King Holiday ceremonies.

Clinton is to receive the King Center’s “Salute To Greatness” award in downtown Atlanta, as will Chick-fil-A founder and CEO Truett Cathy.

The SCLC now says that dinner will be preceded by an afternoon reception for Clinton at SCLC headquarters on Auburn Avenue.

No word on whether husband Bill will accompany her.

Another prime example our elected (?) officials have no idea as to how to save money. I am sure we tax payes paid some money for her to come to the South. As to us in the South, we had just soon her stay up North.

Swan,

Why don’t you crawl back under the rock from which you came or learn a more creative way to post. The one bit of amusement I get when I read ignorant posts like yours is that I know you get to see Ms. Clinton’s smiling face for at least the next four (maybe eight) years as she represents our country on the national stage. Oh wait, that’s assuming you get the news while under your rock!

Get a life.

We are all indebted to John McCain for the insight into each voter’s deliberations as they weigh the pro’s and con’s of a vice presidential nominee.

THis was Political Science 101 at the Electoral College of Hard Knocks. We are all on the same learning curve.

Sara Palin, it turned out, told us more about John McCain than Sara Palin. Palin was exactly what met the eyes. McCain fooled us till he chose Palin.

Thank you, John McCain. There will be text books written about your choice and the effect that rash judgements, and fool-hardiness can have on any presidential campaign.

What we end up with, in Sara Palin, is a John McCain without a party or a country to run in ever again.

Thank you, Sara. Thank you, John.

Thank you, conservativism for dying. (It was worth it, cause Palin gave mouth to mouth at the end…or was it the Heineken Manuever…..anyway, it wasn’t enough to stop Obama’s freedom train….)

What a polarizing assembly of public figures. Truett Cathy’s legacy as a businessman and philanthropist is much more worthy of praise than that wretch.

I’m going to have a chicken sandwich now.

For those of you berating Governor Palin for her “lack of experience”, remember, it is your comrades who want to appoint Caroline Schlossberg to Hillary’s vacated Senate seat. And, as for foreign policy experience, how much of that does B. Hussein Obama have?

You folks amaze me. Clinton is one of the brightest women to serve her country, she is respected around the world; too bad some here think the worst they can call her is a liberal lesbian. Come to think of it, that might just be a compliment.

hillary’s not burning her bridges with the black community because she knows obama’s popularity within the black community will fade, look at his appointments, examine how he’s snubbed the black community since he’s been elected.blacks love obama but obama shows no love for them.blacks are second guessing their support for obama in the primaries, many are thinking they should have supported hillary.

I have nothing against Hilary personally (except she stayed with that scumbag cheating husband) but her policies are horrible. I believe she is a very smart, cunning woman. As far as the posts against Palin. She is a very smart woman as well. For whatever reason the libs and the medial didn’t like her. I say disagree with her policies but don’t hate on anyone for the reasons the libs and media have taken on.

The liberals are just as annoying as the conservatives since this damn election. What is the big deal with this inauguration anyway? It happens every 4 years, it is not a life-changing, historic event the media wants us to think it is.

Sarah Palin is not smart. She is a dimwit, like Bush, which is why she appeals so much to the troglodytes. All they want is a leader they cna have a beer with and j a c k off to.

Ron,

I don’t know who elected you as the spokesperson for blacks, however you are wrong in your assesment. I am a black person who is absolutely thrilled with the appointments made by Mr. Obama. I, as the majority of intelligent people think that his choices should be made on qualifications not skin color. We do not feel snubbed, but empowered. We do not expect Mr. Obama to appoint anyone to any position because they are black. He is in my opinion doing what we elected him to do choose the best person for the job regarless of color. I trust him.

The only person that will get American back to where she should be is The Lord. Yes, there is a Savior for all. I am afraid that Obama and his family will make a mockery of the White House. This Sec of the Treasuary didn’t even pay taxes for a few years and you want me to feel for him? We all had better turn back before it is too late.
