Two polls have Martin at 46 percent. The question is how far ahead is Chambliss?

Public Policy Polling of North Carolina published a poll this afternoon that showed Republican incumbent Saxby Chambliss with a broadening lead over Democrat Jim Martin in the U.S. Senate race — 52 to 46 percent.

Within 30 minutes, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, which has poured money and personnel into Martin’s bid, issued the results of its own internal poll, which showed Chambliss leading 48 to 46 percent.

“Jim Martin is well-positioned to win this campaign,” said DSCC spokesman Matthew Miller. The DSCC poll of 600 was conducted over the weekend, and has a margin of error of 4 percent. Other than the straight horse-race figures, no other stats were offered.

The PPP survey of 871 likely voters, which is non-partisan, was conducted Saturday and Sunday. Margin of error is plus-or-minus 3.3 percent.

Says PPP:

Each candidate is earning over 90% support from voters within his own party. That’s an increase from the last poll we did before the November 4th election, and an indication that those planning to turn out for the runoff may be mostly the strongest of party stalwarts.

Chambliss leads 69-29 with white voters. Even with a higher than expected black turnout for the runoff that share of the white vote would not be good enough for Martin to win- he needs to move closer to a third of it.

Martin leads with voters under 45, but Chambliss has a staggering 69-31 lead with senior citizens, and with the balance of the electorate between older and younger voters tipping in an old direction for the runoff, that makes Martin’s climb that much harder.

so, the DSCC presents a “poll” and only presents the “horse race” numbers with no back up. 100% likelihood that there is no such poll and the DSCC just made it up.

Vote for Saxby Chambliss on 12/2

Far left liberal groups such as NARAL Pro-Choice America & the Service Employees International Union have sent close to $2 million to help Jim Martin. Don’t allow the liberals to elect Martin & get 60 votes in the Senate.

Tell your family and friends to vote for Saxby on 12/2

Avid golfer Chambliss has a 6.5 handicap and a willingness to play golf while the most significant decisions governing Our Republic, and the blood of our servicemen and women, are being debated in Congress.

“Bad knee” got him out of military service…and never a problem since to hamper his “game.”

The People of Georgia must end his “game” serving the corrupt rich and send Jim Martin to replace him in the Senate.

The base of the republican party, rascist aging white voters, are the only ones the the republicans can count on the turn out for them. The rascists may narrowly take this race, but they’ll only be around for a few short years. They’ll die and ultimately us progressives will take over. The rest of the nation will just have to carry on without GA until the rascists die out. Too many Republicans are still fighting the civil war. GA, AL, MS, SC at the bottom of all educational standards polls and they’re reliably republican. Until GA can go the way of NC and VA, we’ll always be at the bottom.

Saxby Chambliss has sponsored a national sales tax bill that would put a heavier tax burden on America’s middle class. The so-called “Fair Tax” Act introduced in the Senate by Chambliss is guaranteed to greatly increase the price of houses, vehicles and health care. It doesn’t take a Ph.D. in economics to recognize that a family earning 80K will be impacted more by a sales tax than someone making 400K. The middle class family will spend a higher percentage of income out of necessity.

The “Fair Tax” rewards the rich, gives corporations a free ride and punishes the middle class. Chambliss has proven yet again that he cares only about big corporations and the rich. Vote for Jim Martin and say no to the Chambliss national sales tax.

This country is on the edge of one of the worst economic disasters ever-and the republican dominated government was largely responsible for it. Our president-elect has just outlined a bold initiative to create millions of jobs that are badly needed in this country. He needs the support of the congress to move on this legistration as quickly as possible. For yours and this country’s sakes, please vote for Martin!

James,

The republican govenrment was not responsible for this. Karl Marx was, especially his idea of having a central bank with nationalization of credit. The Federal Reserve created this mess along with forcing the banks to give out subprime loans (Community Reinvestment Act), then having the government (Fannie and Freddie) back up the worthless paper (because the borrowers have low credit scores) that no investor would touch (unless that government guaranteed the debt). So two government entities and one bill created this mess: 1. Federal Reserve 2. Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac 3. Community Reinvestment Act The government needs to shrink and stop spending money that we do not have! The government can’t create jobs as well as the private sector because the government does have any competition to efficiently utilize private resources as well the private sector (which does have competition). If you want to have an inflationary depression continue spending money and propping up bad companies like what they did during the Great Depression. Watch the Japanese and Chinese drop our worthless dollars and US treasuries because Obama decided to spending 5 trillion dollars on an INFLATION package. (not stimulus)

Will Jones must be a terrorist. He know how 911 was pulled off and for years he has attempted to dissemble and lie. I feel that Will jones is crazy enough to do anything. Will Jones also uses many names like Sissy Saxby. GodHates Trash and the like. I would also like to mention that lunatic supports Martin.

Listen, Saxny may not be perfect. but at least Will Jones and his other crazy names do not support him.

Share the truth known by eighty percent of true Americans, and the rest of the world: Read “The New Pearl Harbor,” by PhD David Ray Griffin, or google “Mineta tesitmony.”

Bush and Cheney committed 9/11 for PNAC’s false war for heroin, oil and the Saudis.

Middle class people voting for Chambliss are sadly mistaken if they think he actually represents their interests. You have to be pretty special to warrant Saxby’s attention. The “Fair Tax” he touts taxes 23 percent (or more most likely) of the income you spend. So if you HAVE to spend it all, you are taxed at the highest rate. Wealth does have its privileges.

It is funny how all the uneducated want to get on here and scare people about the Fair Tax. Get your facts straight first and then comment. The so called “rich” would obviously pay more taxes under this plan as they spend more and consume more than the middle and lower class. Also it would not increase the price of goods 23% as the embedded taxes already on goods from corporate taxes are much more than 23% on average and they would be eliminated. So for you who haven’t graduated from Math 101 that is a net “decrease” in prices.

The Unfair Tax is a scam. Another way to try to starve Social Security into failure. Way too volatile for our economy to depend on. Ask yourself; what IS the motivation for this bizarre scheme?

History shows a TAX INCREASE of any type slows job growth and treasury revenue growth… some people do not understand the word ‘INCENTIVE’ …

Many people do not understand that most new jobs are created by small business - not government -

Do you really think the voters knew enough about Obama? Go see HowObamaGotElected.com and let John Zogby show you that the voters were uniformed.

After the entire election process is over (this cycle) please try to stay informed and demand accountability of ALL our government officials.
