Gingrich to be a UGA law school lecturer — on judicial review
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Former House speaker Newt Gingrich will become a regular — but temporary — lecturer at the University of Georgia School of law this spring.
He’ll be teaching a course on judicial review. Which should come just in time to monitor one or two U.S. Supreme Court appointments by the Obama administration.
The position is the Carl E. Sanders Political Leadership Scholar. In taking the temp position, Gingrich follows in the footsteps of former senators Max Cleland and Wyche Fowler, and most recently, Democratic political consultant Paul Begala.
Gingrich will have a little help. Randy Evans, his close friend and legal counsel, will assist with teaching the class, according to UGA.

Glad to hear that Newt is not teaching a course on Marriage!

With Gingrich’s latest anti-gay statement, maybe he will change his ways and gain a little sense at our state’s flagship university. He sounds okay on economic issues at times but gets really off base appealing to the far right on social issues. He sounds nutty.

Andy, does the fact that he made mistakes in his personal life diminish his ability to teach what he knows very well?
What does his failed marriage have to do with his knowledge of judicial review or his ability to be a Political Leadership Scholar?
Anxiously awaiting your unbiased and intelligent response.
Oh, and I’m assuming your personal life is perfect otherwise you wouldn’t cast that first stone at the proverbial glass house, correct?

Andy - a slam remark such as yours is absolutely not necessary. Unless you are the one perfect person on this earth and maybe you are. It is great to see UGA have someone with Newt’s brain on campus. The students in his class should gain some valuable insight. Newt’s leadership qualities are badly needed in our political arena today.

It is Newt’s brazen hypocracy that makes him totally unfit to teach young minds.
I suggest you read Candace Gingrich’s ( his gay younger sister )blog post on Huffingtonpost.com, a stinging indictment of Newt’s hypocracy and old school culture of division.

Andy, you could teach a course on homosexuality with your vast experience in the area. Just because Newt doesn’t believe in gay marriage you do not have to make weak attempts to belittle him.

Newt is always there to throw a stone at others based on their personal lives and personal choses. So, I think that makes it fair game to poke at his short comings. The minute he stops criticizing other people’s personal lives, I’ll stop criticizing his. Until then, quite your whining.

America’s Creed was the key to the founding and success of Our Nation.
Gingrich fails on each of the Mottoes which define it…found on the Great Seal (the back of the One Dollar Bill, for those unaware of America’s exceptional genius).
He is no man, no patriot, and no American. That he impregnated his teacher to avoid the draft, or divorced her once he’d gained political position to marry the object of his adultery the first, second or nth time, is but a small part of what makes him not only imperfect, but perverse.
Those who sympathize with him are cut from the same cloth.
He should be shunned, if not indicted, as an accomplice to the de facto treason accomplished by his corrupt G.ay O.ld P.ervert faction.
In hiring him UGa diminishes itself. He is scum and the children of Georgia should be shielded from him.

Its obvious by reading most of the comments regarding Newt that the AJC has a lot of bed-wetting liberals that read this failed paper online. Interesting, they always preach peace, forgiveness, etc. Wow, the hypocracy of the left is too funny. When will the AJC go under? Probably soon if liberals are what they rely on, look at Air America. NBC, and many other left leaning outlets, they all usually fail b/c of their audience.

Is this a joke? A guy who has never been to law school teaching a course on judicial review? I guess he’ll just recycle all those conservative talking points about “judicial activism” and other bogeymen. What an empty suit. How this trailer-park Lenin convinced so many people that he knows something is beyond me. The man has never accomplished a dang thing.
Next for Newt: teaching advanced heart surgery at Emory!

So…I assume that you know that Newt has twice divorced wives to marry women with whom he was having an affair. He attempted to coerce his FIRST wife to sign divorce papers while she was recovering from surgery for cancer.
Is this the CALIBER of man you admire so much?
Tell me, which right-wing Fundamentalist Christian value suggests that straight men who compulsively commit adultery and DIVORCE their wives are more admirable than same-gendered couples who actually keep their vows for life?
Or are you just a completely ignorant moron who has the reasoning capacity of a flea?

Former US Speaker of the House, Newt Gringrich will be a prestigious lecturer for the University of Georgia as would anyone of that stature. Gingrich has extensive knowledge of how the government of the United States works having been on of the leaders of our nation. He has a long resume of actually writing and proposing Federal bills into law and was a college professor before his time as a US Congressman.
